So you’ve probably been seeing slip dresses appearing in shops and invading your instagram feed. Here are 3 reasons why you need to join the slip dress revival:

  1. It’s the perfect layering piece and really easy to style- It can be worn on its own, layered over a t shirt, over trousers, or under a sheer dress.
  2. A slip dress will extend your wardrobe and transition easily from Summer to Winter and from day to night. I’m envisaging this with an oversized cardigan for winter- easy and effortless.
  3. It’s timeless.  Whilst currently being a trendy piece and a nod to the 90s trend, it’s also an item that will last the test of time.

Have I convinced you? Will you be adding a slip dress to your wardrobe?

Lace is something I’ve always loved- on other people. I’ve never been a “girly” dresser and lace is the epitome of pretty.  However I’ve found that paring lace  back with more minimal, urban items creates a look which I’m comfortable wearing. It’s pretty, interesting but not overdone.

Sir the label gigi dress, Kara backpack

When I think of beach wear I think of garments that flow and natural fibres that breathe. In my opinion Aussie brand, Sir the Label, has created the perfect après beach coverup – a linen wrap dress with a sexy thigh split.

Whilst perfect for the beach (where it is acceptable to reveal a bit more skin than normal), this dress would also work well in an urban situation.  I can picture this dress over a pair of skinny jeans or layered over a t shirt for more modesty. I love these types of pieces that transition seamlessly.
