Nomaterra – fragrances inspired by travel

Smell is one of the most powerful sensory triggers for memories and emotions. NYC based perfume house, Nomaterra, uses olfactory memory as its foundation and creates scents inspired by a specific location.

I was lucky enough to be gifted with a scent of my choice from Nomaterra. I settled on Atlantic White Cedar, a scent which is inspired by the East Hampton, Mantauk area.

The scent is complex and certainly not one dimensionsal. The top notes are fresh with hints of citrus and florals. The scent gradually warms up thanks to the woody, earthy notes, creating an elegant fragrance. As this is a unisex scent, it may not be for those people who prefer a more feminine scent.

However for those who love feminine scents, I can highly recommend Nomaterra’s Cape Cod Wild Beach Rose, a sample of which was included in my package. The rose is not cloying or strong, but fresh, light as it is combined with citrus and salt. This scent was a finalist in the 2016 Art and Olfaction awards and I can certainly see why. I actually think this might be my favourite scent!

The Summer set

BC the Label pants and top, ATP Atelier shoes, APC Bag, Holly Ryan necklace

When the warm weather hits all I want to wear is clothing that is loose, comfortable and airy – body con is not an option. Which is why this pinstriped set by BC the label is absolutely ideal. The wideleg pants fall beautifully, the relaxed singlet has interesting ruching detail, and together they create a harmonious, streamlined silhouette. This set feels like a dream to wear- like effortlessly chic outside appropriate pyjamas. What could be more perfect?
